Tony Claudino brings to the CERGE-EI Foundation more than 20 years of experience in developing outreach, marketing, scholarship program recruitment strategies, and public-private partnerships. Prior to joining the foundation, he led outreach, recruitment, and marketing efforts for the Fulbright Program at the Institute of International Education (IIE). He piloted and developed recruitment models that engaged diverse groups of prospective applicants, including successful publicity campaigns such as the Top Producing Institutions initiative with the Chronicle of Higher Education. He has extensive experience in working on U.S. government programs and establishing public-private partnerships. He has led various fundraising initiatives to enhance the Fulbright Program, from the Alumni Ambassador program with IIE’s Board of Trustees to Afghan Student enhancement workshops supported by individual donors. At IIE, he also led the Ron Brown Fellowship Program which provided scholarships to young professionals from Eastern and Central Europe and the Balkans to complete professional degrees in the U.S.

Tony has worked in Brno (Czech Republic) as founder and director of the TESOL Teacher Education Program at Masaryk University. He was also a lecturer in the University’s English Department and worked at Masaryk University's International Office. He was a board member of the Vanderbilt YMCA, founding board member of Race2Rebuild, and a co-founder of the Brooklyn Triathlon Club. Tony holds a B.A. from Middlebury College, an M.A. from the Universidade Aberta, Lisbon, and an M.P.A. in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from NYU.
